Brillux Industrial Coatings conducted real pioneering work in developing a powder coating that is not only impressive for its excellent weathering resistance and stability of both gloss and color, but also in terms of camouflage as its special capability.
One key use case for Premium Polyester Powder 5936 is the coating of military devices and vehicle attachments, used by the Bundeswehr and Schweizer Armee. For the latter, Brillux Industrielack has also obtained certification for the F9 color RAL 6014.
With Premium Polyester Powder 5936 in the color shades RAL 6031 F9 (bronze green), RAL 6014-F9 Gelboliv, RAL 1039-F9 (sand beige), RAL 8027-F9 (leather brown) and RAL 9021 F9 (NATO black), we have managed to develop a highly weather-resistant powder coating that thanks to its specially adapted color pigments, provides excellent camouflage in visible and in near infrared spectral range. This way, powder coating means surfaces can be created that are even hidden from infrared night-vision devices.
The dull matt Premium Polyester Powder is suitable for use in extreme climatic conditions and meets all Bundeswehr und Swiss Armed Forces requirements, has a certificate and has been tested by the military testing institutions (WIWeB; Wehrwissenschaftliches Institut für Werk- und Betriebsstoffe) in Erding as well as by armasuisse (Bundesamt für Rüstung, Kompetenzbereich Beschaffung).
Aside from excellent camouflage in near IR spectral range, very high surface hardness, good mechanical parameters and good resistance to chemicals, Premium Polyester Powder 5936 has excellent weathering resistance, gloss and color stability as well as corrosion protection. In addition, the powder coating can be painted over, has very good adhesion and bonding properties.
The coatings are suitable for military vehicle attachments such as antenna mounts or vehicle components, military equipment objects such as chests, storage boxes or stands, transport or room containers.
The ISO/ANSI-standardized shelters/containers currently produced are lightweight and designed for rapid deployment by air, sea, land and rail transport. The standardization facilitates handling and shipping by worldwide military carriers, shippers, charter companies and using authorities.

As presented in the reports and protocols, both products comply with the tested conditions of the required specifications. Brillux Industrial Coatings is thus permitted to offer the products for sale for the use on military materials of the Bundeswehr.
