As a company, we are accountable not only for what we do today – but for the world we leave behind. We invest in renewable energy, continuously improve energy efficiency through a certified energy management system and systematically reduce water consumption in production.
Product certifications create transparency and comparability. At the same time, we consistently refine our formulations – developing low-emission, environmentally and health-conscious solutions that actively support sustainable coating processes.
Water-based coatings – known as hydro coatings – represent the next generation of industrial wet paint systems. They are built around the requirements of the German VOC Directive (31st Federal Immission Control Ordinance – 31. BImSchV), which strictly limits the use of organic solvents. Because water largely replaces solvent content in hydro systems, these coatings are significantly more environmentally compatible while fully complying with VOC regulations.
Low-temperature coatings (LT systems) make a measurable contribution to energy efficiency. They enable high-quality coatings even at significantly reduced curing temperatures. The result: lower energy consumption, reduced CO2 emissions and tangible progress toward sustainability targets – without compromising process reliability or surface quality.
With LT systems from Brillux Industrial Coatings, production processes become more efficient while maintaining full functional and visual performance.
The RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU) regulates the use of certain hazardous substances in industrial products. These include lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium and certain brominated flame retardants and phthalates.
Brillux Industrial Coatings fully complies with these requirements and does not use these restricted heavy metals. This ensures product safety, environmental compatibility and responsible industrial coating solutions.
The European REACH Regulation (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) has governed the registration, evaluation and authorization of chemical substances since 2007. To protect both human health and the environment, Brillux Industrial Coatings works exclusively with pre-registered substances and qualified suppliers.
For our customers, this means legal certainty, transparency and the assurance that all components meet the stringent requirements of REACH.
We never cut corners when it comes to quality. Quality assurance is not theory – it is part of our daily operations. The certifications and approvals of our products and our quality management confirms this. Certified quality that you can rely on:
Brillux Industrial Coatings established a company-wide quality management system as early as 1995. Certification in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001 is a given for us. This certificate is proof of the high expectations we have of ourselves.
The quality label from GSB international (Gütegemeinschaft für die Stückbeschichtung von Bauteilen) stands for the highest coating quality in exterior areas. This is ensured through the simultaneous certification of manufacturers and users of coating systems.
The Association for the Surface Finishing of Aluminium (VOA) has set the maintenance of coated surfaces as its aim. For this reason, the association assigns the Qualicoat quality certificate to coatings systems and processors that meet the high international quality standards and monitor them globally and neutrally.
Verified safety for sensitive applications: Selected products carry ISEGA certification for applications with specific hygienic requirements. This confirms that fully cured coatings do not release harmful substances and are suitable for areas where indirect contact with food may occur. Certified system combinations include 2K-EP Adhesive Primer 5706; Hydro-2K-EP Primer 5710 in combination with Hydro-2K-PUR Topcoats 5860/5861; NT Hybrid Powder Coating EP/PE 5870; and NR Polyester Powder Coating PE 5970/5975.
Brillux consistently invests in expanding photovoltaic installations. Our objective: significantly increase self-generated renewable energy and reduce CO₂ emissions. Photovoltaics are standard in new buildings, and existing sites are retrofitted during renovation projects. A large share of generated electricity is used on site; surplus energy is fed into the public grid.
With the introduction of an energy management system in accordance with EN ISO 50001, Brillux has created a binding framework for measurably increasing energy efficiency and using resources sustainably. Our goal is continuous reduction in energy consumption – achieved through technical optimization, employee awareness and efficient processes. Certification commits us to regular audits, measurable targets and clearly defined responsibilities.
Effective climate action requires transparency regarding emissions across the entire value chain. Brillux Industrial Coatings therefore calculates the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) of its products – covering greenhouse gas emissions from raw material extraction to completion at our production site (“cradle-to-gate”).
The calculation is based on robust life cycle assessments (LCA) in accordance with internationally recognised standards such as ISO 14067 and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. All relevant factors are considered: raw material sourcing, energy and water consumption in production, packaging and production-related waste.
The result is a transparent CO₂ profile that helps companies manage and document their own climate targets more effectively.
